INSURANCE CLAIM FAQ

How long does a roof insurance claim take in Texas?

Most Texas roof claims run three to eight weeks from filing to the crew showing up, though that varies widely with how busy adjusters are after a major storm. Here is where the time actually goes.

Stage by stage

What actually causes the delays

In our experience the biggest single delay is a disputed or incomplete scope — the adjuster documents less damage than is actually there, and the whole thing goes back around for a second look. That is why we document the roof thoroughly before the adjuster arrives, with a drone scan and storm history report, and why we make a point of being on the roof when your adjuster is. It is far faster to get the scope right the first time than to reopen it.

The other common delay is filing late. Texas policies have deadlines for reporting storm damage, and a claim filed a year after the storm invites an argument about whether the damage is storm-related or age-related. If a storm has come through, checking early costs you nothing.
