ROOF INSPECTION · DALLAS–FORT WORTH

Roof inspection in Fort Worth & DFW — drone, hands-on, and photos you keep.

Most roof damage in North Texas is not visible from the driveway. Hail bruises can hide under granules, wind can break shingle seals without tearing anything off, and a slow leak can soak decking for months before a stain shows on the ceiling. A proper roof inspection finds these problems while they are still small. RezComm Roofing & Construction offers a FREE AI drone roof scan for homes across Dallas–Fort Worth, with no obligation. You do not even need to be home.

When to get a roof inspection

  • After a hail or high-wind storm. Even if nothing looks wrong, an inspection documents the condition of your roof soon after the event.
  • When you notice a leak or ceiling stain. The source of a leak is often a different spot than where the water shows up inside.
  • Before buying or selling a home. A roof inspection helps buyers understand what they are getting and helps sellers avoid surprises.
  • When shingles are missing, curled, or cracked, or when you see a lot of granules washing out of the downspouts.
  • Before installing solar panels. It is much easier to address roof problems before panels go on top.
  • As routine maintenance on an older roof, so you can plan for a replacement instead of being surprised by one.

Our three-step inspection: we fly it, we walk it, we meet the adjuster

Step 1: We fly it

We start with a drone. Our proprietary AI software reviews the images and flags areas that look like hail hits, wind damage, lifted or missing shingles, and other problems. The drone sees every slope, including steep sections that are hard to reach safely. We also use thermal imaging alongside the drone scan to look for wet spots and possible leaks that are not visible to the eye.

Step 2: We walk it

Software helps us know where to look, but it does not replace a person on the roof. A member of our team climbs the roof and inspects it by hand. That includes:

  • Shingles: hail bruising, cracks, creases, granule loss, and lifted tabs
  • Flashing at walls, chimneys, skylights, and valleys
  • Pipe boots and roof vents, which are common leak points
  • Ridge caps and ventilation
  • Soft spots in the decking
  • Gutters, downspouts, and fascia
  • Soft metals like vents and gutters, which often show hail dents clearly

Every finding is photographed so you can see exactly what we saw.

Step 3: We are on the roof when the adjuster is

If storm damage leads you to file an insurance claim, we will meet your adjuster on the roof and show them the damage we documented. We are there to point out what we found and answer questions about the roof's condition.

What you receive after the inspection

We do not just tell you "you need a new roof." You get:

  • Drone and hands-on photos of what we found
  • A plain-language explanation of each issue: storm damage, normal wear, or installation problems
  • Our honest recommendation: no action, a repair, or a replacement
  • A free written estimate for any recommended work

If your roof is in good shape, we will tell you that. A clean bill of health is a perfectly good result.

What we look for on North Texas roofs

DFW roofs face a specific combination of stress, and our inspections are built around it.

Hail damage

Hail can knock granules off asphalt shingles and crack the mat underneath. Damaged spots may look minor at first but age quickly because the asphalt is now exposed to sun. Hail also dents gutters, vents, and metal flashing, which helps confirm the size and direction of a storm.

Wind damage

Strong gusts can lift shingles and break the adhesive strip that holds them down. A shingle that has been creased will often lie flat again but no longer be sealed, which leaves it vulnerable in the next storm.

Heat and UV wear

Long, hot summers dry out asphalt and accelerate aging. Poor attic ventilation makes it worse. We check for curling, blistering, and brittle shingles, and look at whether your attic is venting properly.

Leaks and moisture

Leaks often start at flashing, pipe boots, and valleys. If you already have signs of water, our roof leak detection service focuses on tracing the exact source.

Roof inspections and insurance claims

An inspection is often the first step in deciding whether to contact your insurance company. Our photos and reports give you clear documentation of the roof's condition. If you decide to file a claim, we will provide our documentation and estimate, meet the adjuster on site, and explain the process to you as it goes.

To be clear about our role: RezComm documents damage and works with you and your adjuster, but we do not negotiate or adjust claims. In Texas, that is reserved for licensed public adjusters. We never promise that a claim will be approved, and Texas law requires homeowners to pay their own deductible. A contractor cannot pay or waive it. After that, we go over the findings with you. If work is needed and you move forward, we explain options, including materials, warranty, and financing through Acorn Finance.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a roof inspection cost?

Our AI drone roof scan is free, and so is the estimate for any recommended work. There is no obligation.

Do I need to be home for the drone scan?

No. We can scan your roof whether you are home or not, and then go over the results with you.

Can a drone alone find all roof damage?

A drone is a strong starting point, but we follow it with a hands-on inspection on the roof. Some damage, like a broken shingle seal or soft decking, is best confirmed in person.

Should I get an inspection after every hailstorm?

If a storm with hail or high winds passed near your home, an inspection is a good idea. You can start with our free storm history report to see what was recorded at your address.

Will you be there when my insurance adjuster comes out?

Yes. We meet the adjuster on the roof and show them the damage we documented. We do not negotiate your claim, which Texas law reserves for licensed public adjusters.
