STORM DAMAGE · DALLAS–FORT WORTH

Storm damage roof repair in Fort Worth & DFW — documented, tarped, fixed right.

When hail or high winds roll through Dallas–Fort Worth, the hours and days afterward matter. A damaged roof can start leaking with the next rain, and the longer damage goes undocumented, the harder it can be to sort out. RezComm Roofing & Construction, based in Crowley, helps homeowners across DFW find, document, and repair storm damage to roofs, gutters, and siding.

Start with two free tools, with no obligation:

  • FREE verified storm history report for your address. It shows recorded hail and wind events near your home. No visit needed.
  • FREE AI drone roof scan, with thermal imaging to help spot wet areas. You can be home or not.

Signs of hail and wind damage

Storm damage is often easier to see from the ground on things other than the roof itself. Walk around your home and look for:

  • Dents in gutters, downspouts, and roof vents. Soft metals show hail hits clearly.
  • Spatter marks on fences, AC units, and painted surfaces where hail knocked off dirt or oxidation.
  • Granules in gutters or at the bottom of downspouts. Hail knocks the protective granules off shingles.
  • Missing, lifted, or creased shingles, or shingle pieces in the yard after high wind.
  • Cracked or holed siding, especially on the side of the house that faced the storm.
  • Damaged window screens and wraps.
  • New water stains on ceilings or in the attic.

Seeing any of these does not prove your roof needs replacing, and not seeing them does not prove it is fine. That is what the inspection is for.

What to do right after a storm

  1. Stay safe. Do not climb onto a wet or damaged roof. Watch for downed power lines.
  2. Take photos of anything you can see from the ground: dented gutters, debris, leaks inside.
  3. Limit further damage if water is coming in. Move belongings, set out buckets, and call us so we can take a look.
  4. Request your free storm report to see what was recorded at your address.
  5. Schedule a free inspection before calling your insurance company, so you know whether there is damage worth reporting.
  6. Review your policy for deductibles and any reporting deadlines. Your insurer or agent can explain these.

How RezComm handles storm damage

1. We fly it

Our free drone scan uses proprietary AI software to flag likely hail and wind damage across every slope. We pair it with thermal imaging to help locate moisture that may have gotten under the shingles.

2. We walk it

We climb the roof and inspect it by hand: shingles for bruising and broken seals, suspicious areas, flashing, vents, pipe boots, and ridge caps, plus gutters, siding, and other exterior surfaces. Everything is photographed.

3. We review the results with you

You get clear photos and an honest explanation of what is storm damage and what is just normal aging. If there is no meaningful damage, we tell you. If there is, we give you a free written estimate for the repair or replacement.

4. We are on the roof when the adjuster is

If you decide to file a claim, we meet your insurance adjuster on site and show them the damage we documented. Being there in person helps make sure nothing we found is overlooked.

5. We make the repairs

Once the scope is settled, we schedule the work. Depending on the damage, that might be a targeted roof repair, a full roof replacement, new gutters, or siding repair. If you have solar, we coordinate solar panel removal and reinstallation around the roof work.

Storm damage and your insurance claim

Homeowners insurance policies in Texas commonly cover sudden damage from hail and wind, but coverage depends on your specific policy, your deductible, and what the adjuster finds. Here is what RezComm does to help:

  • Documents the damage with drone images, hands-on photos, and written reports
  • Provides a detailed estimate you can give your insurance company
  • Meets your adjuster on the roof
  • Explains each step of the process so you are not guessing

And here is what we do not do, because Texas law does not allow it:

  • We do not negotiate or adjust your claim. In Texas, only a licensed public adjuster can do that on your behalf.
  • We do not promise approval. Your insurance company makes the coverage decision.
  • We do not pay, waive, or rebate your deductible. Texas law requires policyholders to pay their deductible, and a contractor offering to cover it is breaking the law.

Be cautious of anyone who knocks on your door after a storm promising a "free roof" or to "take care of" your deductible. For more background, read Does insurance cover roof replacement in Texas?

Rebuilding stronger for the next North Texas storm

DFW gets hail and damaging wind year after year, so when we repair or replace a storm-damaged roof, we think about the next storm too.

  • Impact-resistant shingles. On qualifying replacements, RezComm offers a free upgrade to impact-resistant shingles at no cost to you. It is not a rebate, discount, or deductible payment. Some Texas insurers offer a premium discount for impact-resistant roofs; ask your insurer. See impact-resistant shingles.
  • Proper nailing and sealing to the manufacturer's specifications, which matters for wind resistance.
  • Sound flashing and underlayment so wind-driven rain has fewer ways in.
  • Metal roofing as an option for homeowners who want a different long-term approach. See metal roofing.

Warranty, insurance, and financing

Storm repairs and replacements from RezComm come with our 5-year workmanship warranty. New roofing products also carry manufacturer warranties of 30 to 50 years depending on the line. We install GAF, IKO, and other major brands. RezComm carries $1,000,000 in general liability coverage through Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company and holds a general contractor license covering our service cities. If insurance does not cover everything, or you are paying out of pocket, financing is available through Acorn Finance.

What to expect for timing

After a big storm, demand for roofers in DFW rises quickly. Getting your free inspection on the calendar early helps. The drone scan can usually be scheduled quickly. If you file a claim, the next steps depend on when your insurer can send an adjuster and how long their review takes. Once the scope is agreed and materials are ordered, repairs and replacements are scheduled around the weather. We keep you updated the whole way.

Frequently asked questions

Should I call my insurance company or a roofer first?

Many homeowners get a free inspection first so they know whether there is real damage before reporting it. Either way, check your policy for any reporting deadlines.

Can you tell me if hail hit my house without coming out?

Yes. Our free verified storm history report shows recorded hail and wind events near your address, and no visit is needed. It does not replace an inspection, but it is a good starting point.

Will you handle my insurance claim for me?

We document the damage, provide photos and an estimate, meet the adjuster on site, and walk you through the process. We do not negotiate or adjust claims, which Texas law reserves for licensed public adjusters.

Can a contractor cover my deductible?

No. Texas law requires homeowners to pay their deductible, and it is illegal for a contractor to pay, waive, or rebate it.

Do you repair gutters and siding after storms too?

Yes. We repair and replace seamless aluminum gutters and siding, which are often damaged in the same storms that damage roofs.
